📖✨ Finding our “One Word”! ✨📖

Randolph 4th graders welcomed a very special guest, District Chief Lisa Brown, Goochland County Fire-Rescue’s Recruitment & Retention Coordinator and former educator. Chief Brown read One Word For Kids and inspired students to brainstorm the word that will guide them through the school year. 🌟

We’re so grateful for our community partners who share their time and wisdom with our students! ❤️

☀️New SUN Bucks cards are on the way! ☀️ In an effort to ensure Virginians have access to their benefits as soon as possible, VDSS began mailing SUN Bucks 2025 cards to automatically enrolled households in the first week of July.

Please note that your benefits will not become available on SUN Bucks or SNAP EBT cards until July 18, even if you receive a SUN Bucks card in the mail before that date.

If you don’t receive your new card by July 18, don’t worry! Benefits will continue to be issued on a rolling basis, so households can expect to receive their SUN Bucks cards at different times.

Flyer titled “Virginia SUN Bucks” from the Virginia Department of Social Services. It announces a federal program that provides eligible children with a one-time $120 food benefit on a Virginia SUN Bucks card to buy groceries. Children are automatically eligible if they receive SNAP or TANF benefits, participate in income-based Medical Assistance, or were approved for free or reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program in the 2024–2025 school year. If not automatically eligible, families must apply. Benefits will be issued beginning July 2025 on a rolling basis. SNAP recipients will receive funds on their existing EBT card; others will get a mailed SUN Bucks card. To apply, families can print and mail an application from VirginiaSunBucks.com or apply online from July 1 to August 15. The flyer includes contact info for the Virginia SUN Bucks Call Center (866-513-1414) and displays logos of the Virginia Department of Social Services and Virginia SUN Bucks. A family with a grocery cart is pictured at the top.

🎓 Graduation Update 🎓 Due to current field conditions, in addition to rain expected tonight and the uncertain forecast through the day and evening tomorrow, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone Saturday’s (5/31) graduation ceremony. Graduation will now take place on Sunday, June 1 at 7:30 PM—same time, same place. We hope this delay gives our field more time to dry out and allows for a more enjoyable and safe celebration for our graduates and their families. Mr. Hahn, GHS Principal, will be sharing more detailed information with senior families soon. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work to honor the Class of 2025 in the best way possible!
