Last month, our third graders from all three of our elementary schools traveled to Shalom Farms for a vibrant, hands-on outdoor classroom experience that brought their Science SOLs to life.
From exploring plant anatomy (and tasting fresh produce!) to investigating the water cycle and erosion, our students were true scientists. The collaboration didn't stop there—our third graders rotated through stations led by talented GCPS fifth-grade teachers, built LEGO pollination models with specialists from the Children's Museum, and even created seed packets to donate back to future community gardening projects! 🤝❤️
This amazing day of community, connectedness, and discovery was made possible by the Goochland Education Foundation (GEF) through the STEM in Nature grant. We are so grateful for their support and the dedication of our administrators and staff who build these meaningful learning experiences.

But the real magic happened behind the scenes—Mrs. Swift teamed up with our incredible second-grade families in secret to have students pack flashlights and their favorite woodland stuffed animals for the big surprise! 🐻🔦
From reading under the "stars" to sharing stories with their furry camp sidekicks, our young scholars proved that reading is always an adventure. ❤️

Our amazing students dressed to impress, walked the red carpet, and proudly accepted their end-of-year awards in front of their cheering peers. Events like this remind us how special our school community is, building a sense of belonging and pride that our kids will carry with them all summer long. We are so proud of these young leaders and the supportive environment our teachers create every single day!

Yesterday, our Randolph Elementary School Roadrunners marked an incredible milestone at their 5th Grade Moving-On Ceremony! 🌟 Before the big event, the entire school lined the hallways to cheer, high-five, and congratulate our oldest students in a deeply moving send-off. From their first days of elementary school to becoming leaders on campus, we are so incredibly proud of the hard work and kindness these students have shown.

🎓✨ Full circle moments in the making! Yesterday, our GHS seniors took an emotional walk down memory lane during the Senior Walk at Goochland Middle School. Walking these hallways as soon-to-be graduates—greeted by cheering students and proud staff—marks an incredible milestone as they head toward the big stage next weekend! 🏫❤️
But their journeys began even earlier than middle school. To celebrate where it all started, we are kicking off a countdown! Over the next week, we will be sharing daily photo galleries of our seniors visiting their former elementary schools, leading right up to the culminating event of graduation next Saturday. 🎒✨

The Unified Sports program is all about teamwork, friendship, and bringing students together through a shared love of sports. Registration is officially open for the 2026 GCPS STEM Camp! We are bringing our community’s young innovators together for a week of discovery at the Goochland Middle/High School Complex. This year, we’re featuring two incredible programs:
Young Engineers Construction Camp (Current Grades PreK-8): Campers will explore building and design, get an up-close look at real construction vehicles, and even take guided tours of active construction sites! 🚜🏗️
FTC Robotics (Current Grades 5-7): A high-energy experience where students design, build, and program custom robots for a fun team competition. Note: Capped at 15 students! 🤖💻
