Children's Mental Health Awareness Week (GHS Bring Change to Mind)

May 1st through 7th is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week. In honor of Children's Mental Health Awareness Week, GCPS is highlighting some of the mental health supports and resources that are available to our students.   Today, we are highlighting Goochland High School's Bring Change 2 Mind club.

At Goochland High School, Bring Change 2 Mind is a student-led club aimed at reducing stigma related to mental health and raising awareness about supports available for teenagers. Bring Change 2 Mind started at Goochland High School in the winter of 2022. This spring, in addition to advocacy, Bring Change 2 Mind has organized events for students focused on stress management, focus, and peer relationships. The club plans to collaborate with local organizations to advertise community resources, plan more student events, and continue to normalize discussing mental health.

"Bring Change 2 Mind makes me feel impactful.  It makes me feel like I am not only supporting the minds of my community, but bettering my own mental health and that of those around me."
-Maya, GHS 11th Grade Student
