Registration Process for New K-12 students
***Please review Part 1 and Part 2 outlined below BEFORE beginning the registration process. An email confirmation will be sent after Part 1 is submitted. Please complete Part 2 to finish the enrollment process.***
Part 1 – New K-12 Student Pre-Registration
2024-25 School Year (Kindergarten Registration) will open in the Spring of 2024.
Part 2 – New K-12 Student Registration
After submitting Part 1, an email will be sent to you with further instructions. Please follow the directions outlined in the email to complete the registration process. Please note, you must follow the directions outlined in the follow-up email to complete the registration process.

Registration Links for New Pre-Kindergarten (preschool) Students
For all new preschool families, please complete an application first:
If your child qualifies for admission to the GCPS program, Dr. Jennifer Waggener will contact you with further instructions. Should you have questions about the status of your application, please contact Dr. Waggener at firstname.lastname@example.org or (804) 556-5625.
Directions for Returning Students and/or Students with Enrolled Siblings
Parents of returning students, please log into PowerSchool to access the Forms link (on the left side) and update your contact information. If you do not know your username and password, please contact the school for this information to receive further instructions.
Parents who have students currently enrolled in our system (other siblings)
If you are registering a new child and already have a login for PowerSchool for an existing child, please begin your child's enrollment with this link for the 2023-2024 SY.
Once you receive the email with your new child’s access id and access password, please log into your PowerSchool account.
After logging in, please click on Account Preferences and then click on the “Students” tab.
Finally, please click on the “Add” button and enter your new child’s access id and password. This process will associate your new child to your existing child’s account.
Registration for Non-resident Students
Children who live outside of Goochland County may attend Goochland County Public Schools (GCPS) by payment of tuition. Tuition is currently $4,000 per student per year. Tuition for Goochland County Employees is $800. There is no charge for GCPS staff.
Payments may be made over the ten months school is in session or in lump sum. Checks should be payable to Goochland County Public Schools and mailed or delivered to 2938 River Road West, Building I, P.O. Box 169, Goochland, VA 23063.
You must provide your own transportation to and from school.
There is an application process for non-resident students. The application can be downloaded here (Español). Completed applications are first approved by the school principal. Transcripts may be requested at the time of application. Once approved by the principal, the application is then forwarded to the Superintendent for review and final approval. This process must be completed on an annual basis prior to the start of school.
