The Goochland County School Board will vote on the appointment of Dr. Andrew “Andy” Armstrong as the next superintendent of GCPS at its meeting on April 8.
Dr. Armstrong, currently Associate Superintendent at the Virginia Department of Education, is no stranger to Goochland—he previously served as the GCPS Assistant Superintendent of Administration and Interim Superintendent from 2016 to 2023.
If approved by the School Board, Dr. Armstrong will begin his new role on April 22, 2025.
